people with coffee in rocky mountains

Who doesn’t love a coffee to start the day? It’s hard to beat a great coffee before setting out on a walk through town or as you head out on a mountain adventure. A strong coffee gets the senses heightened and allows you to take in all of the magic that Canmore and the Bow Valley region offer. Can you tell that we love our coffee? Yes, we have a fantastic coffee machine at home. But, coffee made by someone else is fantastic. We make an effort to pop into the best coffee shops that Canmore offers so that you know where to go when in Canmore.

1. Communitea Cafe

Communitea Cafe is so much more than a great coffee. It’s a fantastic restaurant with excellent food. Their bowls are our favourite in town. But wait, this is about the best coffees in town. Communitea knocks it out of the park for friendly ambiance and a great cup of coffee or latte. Be sure to grab a little goodie for the road before you leave. If you are a fan of tea, you have picked up on the spelling of Communitea, and they have a wall of fantastic teas.

2. Eclipse Coffee Roasters

Eclipse has some fantastic roasted brews of their own. There are two locations on Bow Valley Trail, the other on our main street, 8th Avenue. Our favourite is the main street locale as it has a bright, BoHo interior. Also, being in downtown Canmore, it’s a great place to grab and go on a walk. We suggest their latter and a stroll along the Bow River!

3. Beamers Coffee

Beamers is a long-standing coffee shop in Canmore. There are a couple of locations similar to Eclipse – including a downtime location. This is a Canmore classic. The beans are reliable, and their drip coffee is always a quick option in a pinch.

4. Blondies Cafe

Okay, let us come clean here. This is a top-four Canmore coffee shop list, but it’s very challenging to rank these. Blondies is fantastic. All four of these coffee shops are great! Being that Blondies is at the corner of Bow Valley Trail and Railway Avenue, it can be confusing how to get to the coffee shop. You need to drive along Bow Valley Trail to find the back road. Please don’t fret; it’s worth the navigation!

We love our coffee, and if you have made it this far, you clearly do, too! Let us know what you think of the list, and feel free to add comments about what other coffee shops you love in Canmore!
